Public Policies
Agroecology has been recognised as a viable alternative to guarantee the sustainability of food systems, having been mentioned in several current official documents, both at the European level – European Climate Pact, Farm to Fork – and at the national level, with its inclusion in the Strategic Vision for Portugal's Economic Recovery Plan 2020–2030. However, this is just the beggining. Therefore, it is necessary to continue working to understand how agroecology can be included in public policies in a participatory and inclusive way, so that its implementation meets the needs of territories and communities. This initiative brings together several people in focus groups in order to analyse, discuss, propose and share reflections on public policies related to agroecology, that are available for public consultation. As well as mobilises, brings together and strengthens agroecological communities in Portugal. It promotes participatory governance that should contribute to the consolidation of public policies in support of agroecology at a national and European level.
