A Caravan Tour through Lisbon's Agroecology05.02.2021
Throughout the neighbourhoods of Lisbon there are more and more projects that follow agroecological principles, with more or less emphasis on different areas such as education, science or community cohesion. Since 2009, the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Lisbon (FCUL) has practised permaculture in a community vegetable garden called HortaFCUL. This garden was created and has been maintained by students from FCUL. Every Wednesday, the volunteers involved in this project get together, work in the garden, plan future activities, socialise and, at the end of the day, eat products that they have harvested. They intend to "care for the earth, care for people and share surplus", the three ethics of Permaculture.

Caravana AgroEcológica in Mértola01.07.2020
The current pandemic has led us to question the priorities of current societies. For example, we understood the importance of sustainable agricultural practices distributed locally for the sake of our health and the planet. In fact, these agricultural productions are better prepared than large-scale systems to face crises like the one we are facing, as they promote socially, economically and environmentally conscious practices.

Agroecologia e Inovação nos Espaços Rurais19.06.2020
The transition from super-intensive agricultural production systems, which use pesticides and herbicides in large quantities, to agroecosystems where practices make it possible to preserve soils, habitats and biodiversity is urgently needed. It is urgent to create and maintain short food supply chains, which significantly reduce the ecological footprint of distribution, contribute to local development and allow farmers and consumers to get to know each other and build trusting relationships. This transformative process must be inclusive, clustering and holistic, based on the application of ecological principles for the construction and management of sustainable ecosystems, bringing together science, practice and social movement – i.e. an agroecological process.
